Not very convincing when the one spouting how easy it is when hiding. it is the anticipation that hurts. An RN told me it hurts less if you don’t watch the injection process.
@stairsteppublishing The comment (and the ‘how easy it is’) was from my Dad. When he and Mom were about to get cataract surgery, he explained to her that laser surgery was a great improvement from the days when my poor grandmother had her corneas removed with primitive tools. (I think they used grapefruit spoons). Then when the doctor came in he enthusiastically said “You go first, Fran!” My sister witnessed this. Tomorrow’s strip is based on my own behaviour when I was at the doctor’s at a very young age.
No puns, Shawm? Well, I don’t blame him! Just the thought of a needle is enough to make me flinch (but I get blood drawn often). Animals don’t seem to react quite as much, or am I making that up? I mean when they actually stab ya. Maybe it’s because they don’t really know what’s coming? But they do…
The first year, I had the flu, and then they gave me a flu shot.
The second year, they gave me the flu shot, and then I had the flu.
The third year, they gave me the flu shot while I had the flu. I asked the Specialist giving the shots why I had to have a flu shot if I already had the flu. He said, “Orders are Orders.” (The standard army refrain.)
The fourth year, they gave me a flu shot, and I didn’t get the flu!! Finally, but it took four years.

Yesterday’s strip, and today’s “moon shot” have me giggling thinking about fluffy animal “moons”. ☺️

At least with dogs and cats, if you scruffle their heads while the doc is working, they may miss noticing the shot.
