LOL! Oh, Shawm! You’re embarrassing yourself here!

But you do look so adorable and pathetic while you do it.

I rarely had trouble getting one of our dogs into the treatment room or getting them to hold still. We had one vet that would give a rectal exam during an annual physical to our male Rottweiler. It didn’t take Max long, once was enough, for him to walk into the exam room and place his behind against the wall and sit. I told the vet not to do that type exam any more.

Oh my, Shawm, you are a cry baby, aren’t you. Then again, I shouldn’t judge you – the thought of an injection when I was younger was enough to drive me into hysterics.

Similar to the manly art of helplessly convalescing on the couch with a cold… for days.

Got to look past the Puppy Dog Eyes. And the whimpering of course.

We know he’ll get over it. The stories told here (and HERE, in the comments!) are wonderful!

It really depends on who is giving the shot. When I went in for a booster shot a former school nurse engaged me, chatting to distract me and I didn’t even feel the needle. The next time a firefighter was giving the shots, acted if I wasn’t even there, jabbed me when I wasn’t expecting, because he was talking to someone else and I was in pain with a big purple bruise for over a week.

I was crying and carrying on becoz I didn’t want a shot. Dr. said, “Be quiet or I’ll give you two!” It worked.

Where I lived as a kid, all shots were given at elementary school.

Some kids would hold onto chairs, desks, doors, other kids… but they still got the shot(s).

My lurcher was like that. He used to freak out. My current fur a 15 year old Jack Russell barks at the vet to hurry up and pet her!
