Rat should be more careful, in this economy it could be him being fried, or bar-b- qued.

Pearls Before Swine seems to make it to allot of Strips. Didn’t Rat just show up in some other one lately?

Did Pastis have a hand in this? Are these some more mutANTS from Dog Eat Doug (these only have four “legs”)? Are newspapers going to fold? What will be “black and white and read all over” next? enquireing minds want to know………

It doesn’t make any sense that newspapers cut down on comics to avoid readership losses, it’s the only reason I buy a one (and sports too), people that work in the area will want to borrow the paper just to read the daily comics. Rat should write a story about Elly Elephant stomping on some newspaper CEOs.

That policy never made sense to me either, but the policy is meant to save on costs, not to avoid readership losses. Somehow the second consequence is being overlooked. What’s being missed by the PTBs, I guess, is that you don’t want to save on costs and lose readers simultaneously.
