In the winter we could use some global warming.

Must be nice to be able to afford wasting gasoline.

Wasteful lazy people. Car takes 3 minutes to warm up and get an ice scraper. Or better yet clean your garage and park the car where it is supposed to be parked.

According to the latest research it is not good for the car to sit idling in the cold. Crank it and go. Just drive easy until it gets warm.

Seems counter-intuitive, but it’s about the car sitting there a loong time with cold oil not adequately lubricating the moving parts.

I’ve been idling my car a lot this winter, I admit, but even then only for about five to ten minutes, maybe fifteen max if I’m delayed—twenty or more is way too excessive and, indeed, a waste of gasoline (to say nothing of the aforementioned environmental concerns—even if we were to overlook the global warming/climate change matter, it’s still arguably needless air pollution).

Our neighbor warms his car up for about 30 minutes. I only notice in winter when the bushes are bare and his headlights can shine on my bedroom window.

Being from a rural ag-centric state I note those commodities are harvested with many powerful diesel trucks and other labor saving machinery. Not to mention the consumer product being shipped hundreds if not thousands of miles to a buyer. I am told, ’It’s business’. Everything gets paid for.

I wish I could afford to eat organic at times, but you do you.

Here in Denver Colorado area, “puffers” will get you a ticket. Not only do they contribute to the brown cloud, they often get stolen from the street/driveway.
