I am not part of the group of people who would think he is staring at a blank page. I would say blank screen. Must be my age, but page is still paper to me.

No, that’s a toe cramp.

What ever the idea is it’s bound to be (toe) cheesy.

Gosh, I hope it’s not gas!

He comes up with a story about writer’s block and sells volumes!!

That means it’ll stink when it makes it to the page.

The blinking cursor hypnotizes him.

Does just staring at your father get him to buy you a pony? ☺

And the idea is coming up very slowly.

Aha, so his brains are in his toes…who knew?

He’s got his methods, we should respect that.

Toe fungus?

If it stops about halfway, makes a loud noise upon exiting followed by a foul odor…it wasn’t an idea.

The only way to get the full body experience is to start at the bottom.

Maybe the blank page will fill itself.

It is possible for some people to mentally project text onto a blank field, then write it down. Staring at a video program is the opposite thing.

When digestive functions get backed up, people can use a laxative. Doesn’t alcohol serve a similar function for self expression? Stop short of provoking violence, however.

At least he is staring at a blank workplace (counts for paper or screen) and not sitting and playing games or watching movies on his computer.
