Ah! The old, “I’m not asleep. Just resting my eyelids!” routine. Been known to do that a time or two myself, and tell Mrs. Dear air drying is just fine for those dishes.
If they took turns dozing, they would be more rested.

I just put the dishes in the drying rack & let them air dry.
