Unopened boxes make the toys far more valuable.

Nowadays, it’s okay for collectors to open their boxes.

They’ll be worth twice as much than when you bought them once he’s in his mid to late twenties!

My NEW thing, after wasting $75+ dollars on AMAZING Tokka and Rahzar TMNT: Secret of the Ooze figures, is open the box, look at them a bit, then PUT THEM BACK IN. My sweet sister bought me an official Ramza from FFT figure!!!! I have him displayed in his box so I don’t need to dust him.:DDD

To each their own, but keeping your toys in boxes seems sad to me, and a cruel warping of childhood. I mean, look at Miles. Does that seem healthy?

As far as illiquid assets (collectibles, art, etc.) NRFB (Never Removed From Box) holds more value than RFB-MC (Removed From Box-Mint Condition). In that same vein, more people spent with their emotions than with logic when they have a glut of cash just burning a hole in their pocket. Rich folks will buy dang near ANYTHING that triggers a pleasant(?) memory.
