The best Larson cartoons are often one panel and no dialect. The best I recall is a picture of a hooker leaning against a wall. She has a peg leg and a hook for one of her arms. She is wearing a sign that says “40% off”. Still cracks me up.

That old metal garbage can also looks like it’s from the ’80s.

Shortly after the end of TFS’ run, there was a cartoon in which a hefty woman with pointy glasses and tall hair held up a sign saying, “Lost my job in The Far Side.”

There was a character that looked a lot like this in Cartoon Network’s “Uncle Grandpa”. His name was Ham Sandwich.

He’s unemployed because all those years ago he couldn’t get into his gifted school. No matter how hard he pushed the door.
