She’ll be after him to plant another tree, I guess.

Fifty years ago I planted a maple tree fairly close to the house. It was one of a dozen or so saplings I found in the nearby woods (Great! Free trees). They all grew, especially the tiny one near the house (6 feet away). It must have tapped into a wonderful source of nutrition because it outpaced all the other trees, growing tall and extra big, trunk-wise. (Hey, I was a new home owner and not that well versed in the mysterious ways of the hardwoods). I had an experienced woods worker remove “the beast”, and breathed a massive sigh of relief. Trees are beautiful, but can do a lot of damage if planted in the wrong spot.

No sympathy Abby – You could have waited five years but you had to rush it…

It’s YOUR fault, Abby. YOU are the one who told Len to cut down the tree, he tried to talk you out of it, but you bludgeoned him until he gave in.

If that tree threw any shade on the house during the summer, it’ll get much hotter now without it.
