That’s what cats do.

I’ve seen cats described as “ambush predators”. If you live with them long enough, you should get used to it.

And anyway, it’s not the cat’s fault that we humans are so easy to sneak up on.

I actually had a neighbor complain to my landlord that I was “sneaking” around in the twilight with my cat. She apparently thought we should be wearing flashing lights and sirens for her convenience. All we were doing was walking on the roadway.
