    In German we would say: “sie hat ihn kalt erwischt!” The dictionary offeres to “jemanden kalt erwischen”- catch sb. off guard/ on the hop/ flat-footed.

    For us the snowblower would come in handy: have about 15-20 cm fresh snow now. sigh

    My electric was straining yesterday moving 11 inches of heavy wet snow but it came through, thank God. I’d still be shovelling if I did it by hand.
