I don’t know…, it seems that hair is too good to be real. If it is his, it’s his, bought and paid for.

One things for sure, he won’t need to know what he’s reading on the teleprompter. The newbies we get can’t even pronounce half of the proper names that come up. So sad.

I knew several journalism majors in college. When the college decided that TV newscasting was much more important than newspapers or story researching / reporting, all of the journalism majors quit our college newspaper. And my friends started complaining that the best looking people were suddenly at the top of the class, despite lacking communications and writing skills.

For years I have noticed the sorry state of our local television newscasts. On-air “talent” who look nice but stumble through their scripts (part of that could be due to poorly written scripts) as well as production mistakes (like wrong microphone turned on, or wrong video). Too many “breaking news” stories are actually stories that have been circulating on the Internet for at least a few days. For a while, the “Consumer Watch” segment was simply reading parts of whatever the latest Consumer Reports magazine delivered. It’s to the point that about the only original up-to-date “reporting” is the weather report – and part of that is also culled from web sites instead of doing their own meteorology.
