I had a doctor’s appointment for something else. The nurse asked me if I had any other complaints, and almost as an afterthought I mentioned abdominal pains I’d had a few days earlier. She immediately asked me for a urine specimen, and when it was analyzed, told me I’d passed a kidney stone. The possibility had never occurred to me.
I took this from real life. I once had a stone that lasted for over two months, and my friends actually had a pool going on which day it would pass. All in good fun!

By the look on his face it might be coming out now.

He’s gonna pass before the Kinney stone if you don’t get him a glass of water and maybe an IV

Better give him a tin cup to be able to verify.

Dang. $50 seems a bit steep for a 1 in 6 chance of winning $300. Odds go down but win goes up if a few more bet.

Bleeb, you may as well come out from under the bed. They’re all wearing scrubs today. :)

Of course nurses care, especially when they have a little money on it.

To the Tooninator, ya gotta be kidding? Passing a stone is “All in good fun!” I guess being a cartoonist isn’t masochistic enough…

50 dollars per bet? They must make a lot of money if they can afford 50 dollars per bet…
