When I was a kid there were only 3 channels – ABC, CBS and NBC. They came on at 6:00 am and off at 10:30 or 11:00 pm. Oh, and yes, there was an on/off knob.
And the grueling crawl through shag carpet up hill both ways in a driving snow storm to change those channels I feel lucky to have survived. Lol. We lived in Detroit area so we got a channel from Canada
