It’s what winter does to him. He likes to pretend he’s a snow leopard pouncing on his prey.

I hope that Peekaboo’s claws weren’t out when he did the jump!

I’ve had to “rescue” our cat, Hobbes, exactly that way several times. Being an indoor cat, it was from high shelves, not trees. Hobbes was not nearly as graceful in flight as Peekaboo.

Just be glad you had someone to rescue you, Peekaboo.

When I was a teen and a cat got stuck in a tree, we’d put on a heavy coat, bend forward a bit with knees flexed like a skier, and the cat would jump down on our upper back (not lower!) and go about its business. Didn’t hurt, and better than going up the tree after the bozo.

Somebody I knew bought an Abyssinian and the breeder asked her not to have the cat declawed, she did any way. I thought that was horrible but hey, her cat. You have expensive furniture, don’t get a cat, in fact don’t get a pet, dogs have no claws but they chew, my then puppy did. Perhaps something behind glass. Fish!!! In the news there was a guy who had a python, a neighbor had the cops do a welfare check when he would not pick up the phone for a few days. Yup.

Those two should charge admission. They have quite an act going.

Peekaboo makes a good hood ornament.
