I have to say, there is something about reading that is really soporific. Even when it’s a good engaging book, it still make you feel sleepy. I’m not the only one according to those I’ve asked. Maybe I’m getting older and the strain is too much now for my noggin :)
There are times I wonder why I read this. Don’t we have enough cartoons portraying dead-beat, do-nothing fathers? (I refer mostly to the Simpsons.) Fathers who care about their families should be respected, not lampooned. Yes, I know this is a comic strip, but sometimes this whole outlook on viewing dads as incompetent and objects of ridicule gets to me. (Down off the soapbox.)
