Sorry, I’ve used the free ones from the mail from people seeking donations. I haven’t purchased a card in years, NOR had people that sent me cards…I’m good!
I always did. And my present. And a balloon. Ever since the sleeveless red and black striped turtleneck incident. ( really happened, it was for my birthday)
We recently had a nice anniversary, but for the first time together forget to get cards for one another. 2 months later my wife has a cold on her birthday, I gave her a combination Birthday/get well soon/belated anniversary card. If only I had waited a week, I could have drawn a heart on the card, and added Valentine’s Day to the list.
We don’t bother buying each other cards anymore. We both agreed it was a bit pointless. There are more important ways to show how you feel about each other than a card. We also buy our own birthday and Christmas presents. That way we both get what we actually want and the stress of trying to find the right gift for the other is gone. We do get each other a small gift that’s a surprise. We’re a fairly pragmatic couple.
I always try to make my own cards. I have done over the last half century. At times someone would remind me of a card I made them, how special it was for them to receive it and how the still have it stored somewhere safe. One woman told me she carefully took the Poinsettia from a card I made her for Christmas and taped it to a Christmas gift for someone special. That made my heart soar.

We pick the best card out for each other, read them; then put them back on the display rack……

We gave each other the exact same card one year. I started laughing before I even got the one from him out of the envelope.

I’d rather skip the card and pick out the restaurant he takes me to.

Thankful for the iPhone. I take a picture in the Hallmark Store and text the card to the wife. So romantic.

At least Ralph has the good taste to send a card and not a stupid text or emoji

I think that’s an excellent idea! Since I’m totally alone, I can buy my own!

My wife HATES hallmark holidays. If I got her a valentine’s day card, she might throw it away without opening it.
