I dunno where this ‘surprise’ is going, but at least Skeezix gets in the strip on his day.
- – - – -
It’s a too-much-napping three-way classics update for the 14th:
Rancher Carver nearly sets himself up to add a ‘notch’ to his gun, but decides to let Priss off the hook, if he was a fish he’d have to throw him back in any case. If Priss is the killer, you’d think he would use his unlikely appearance to gun people in private, or by ambushing them… rather than needing to set up an alibi for himself.
Brenda and Chug-Chug’s coverage of Minthandy, the election, and the return of Turtleneck Torgan has been big, BIG business for The Flash, and it’s time for Mr. Livwright to give his reporters their flowers. And he doesn’t even pop for the price of a bouquet, the cheap bastidge!
Slim has a small token for the boss, and his future Dad – as it turns out that our 1973 story is set just about halfway through the life of the main protagonist of Frank King’s magnum opus.
I was right, this Sunday Valentine’s strip is repeated today on Feb. 14, 2024 – Valentine’s Day. The situation for the fate of the Gasoline Alley strip resumes tomorrow.

This used to be the day that Skeezix’ birthday was celebrated. I guess once you turn 100, there isn’t any need.

My guess is they’re threating to tear down the Gasoline Alley Garage, just as Corky’s Diner faced demolition 10 or so years ago.
