You don’t want to scare him off.

The slightly raised ears, stiffing of the muscles, a hard focussed stare, slight shaking of the legs…….we’ve all been there.

Time for the first squirrel of the season…

Perhaps a rarely seen baby squirrel.

Don’t let the jingle of your dog tags scare them.

Then, when he least expects it, jump him!

Shhhhhhhh……….be very very quiet, we’re hunting squirrel.

The squirrel knows perfectly well that dog is out there. It’s going to come out of its hole and go right up on the second branch on the right and cuss out that dog, whereupon a blue jay or two will come around and join in the fun. As the squirrel and jays should — the dog is raising a ruckus in their neighborhood.

Wait till you see the whites of his eyes!

I hope it’s a squirrel and not a boa constrictor.

Wait for it ……….. Wait for it ……… Wait …….. “S Q U I R R E L” ……. ;)

The Second Coming?

My dog ignores squirrels. Sometimes they get rather huffy about it and they will tease her, run up to her and almost touch her. She won’t even look at them. They unleash some very nasty language when they can’t irritate and annoy a dog! Squirrels are very playful and I like watching them try to get my dog to react.

Always the best trees. Bliss is a frustrated naturalist.
