And going onto and off of Daylight Saving definitely doesn’t help the situation. Wish congress would pick one or the other and stay on it. Should be easier than a border policy or government budget, which they can’t do either.
I only have 3 clocks that I still have to change. The oven, the microwave, and a decorative pendulum clock I got when I reached 30 years service with my employer. All the rest get updated automatically.
Never been a morning person – always been a night person. I was born at 10 pm and as a baby I shared a bedroom with my parents and I have a feeling that it is why I am a night person.
I mostly have dealt with it over the years – getting up early enough to walk to high school and be there by 8 am, show up at other levels of school on time, show up at work at time (but that has not generally been 9 am – as I travel to clients in a large area – 2 states – and had to deal with traffic getting there so 10:30 was acceptable to me for my first appointment of the day).
Worst is getting up early enough to go to reenactment events as dressing in 18th century clothing takes much longer for both husband and myself (I love the Christmas nights event we do because of that – plenty of time to dress and get there).
But what really killed me and husband was the start of Covid. Not going out to work or elsewhere – so why get up early- stay up even later and do things while watching TV – going to bed moved back to 5 am – sometimes not asleep until after 6 am. We are working on getting back to a more normal time schedule these days. (Right now 1:47 am. I am online reading comics in the kitchen while listening to the dryer in the basement drying the last load of laundry for the week. He is upstairs on his computer. Around 2-3 am he will come down for late night snack (our breakfast substitute meal as both Diabetic so will have low glucose if went from dinner to lunch tomorrow without eating in between and wake in time for lunch). Afterwards I will do the dishes from same and take the dried laundry up with us. I will fold the laundry in bed with the TV on while he falls asleep and then I will attempt to go to sleep also. (Laundry will be put away tomorrow.

The human brain is like a computer HD… It fills with info and processes constantly while awake… Humans need a “Sleep” button like the computer.

Tune in BBC World News. The less you remember, the better you have actually slept.

The best sleep I get, though brief, is when I’m not trying to.
