Big news: I haven’t had time to read all the comments here lately, so I don’t know if anyone else noticed, but the Tribune Content Agency (TCA) page for Dick Tracy (https://tribunecontentagency.Com/premium-content/comics/dick-tracy/) has been updated. Shelley Pleger is still credited in the strips of the current story, but she is no longer listed on the TCA page for Dick Tracy. She has been replaced by Charles Ettinger who did the art for the very first one-week Minit Mysteries story in 2017 (starting with https://www.gocomics.Com/dicktracy/2017/11/19). I wonder if this is an accidental leak, since we haven’t seen Ettinger’s name on the current strips yet.

I’ve really enjoyed Shelley’s art on this strip and I will miss her. I suspect that Charles’ style might take some getting used to, but it doesn’t seem as extremely different from what we’re used to as some of the other guest artists that have appeared from time to time over the years since that 2017 story.

I’m done with this story as of today…the “stereotypical jew” is not “authentic” at all and instead is nothing short of offensive, add in the cartoonish artwork and the ridiculously “thin” story so far, theres nothing worth continuing for

What’s that behind the guy’s head in panel two? A table leg? I guess it’s a table leg. Otherwise, it looks like Sam stuck a knife in the guy’s head. Though from Sam’s expression, maybe he did.

Looks like Eric may be writing another novel here….

POOPSKI: They weren’t selling anything. In fact, Perpski had to start working here to pay their bills – as a cook. Odd. He seems to have left for the day…

Ticked at a certain well-known bell-ish taco place. As part of the Valentine’s Day, Terri wanted a TB breakfast. I raided my just-stated fund to save for a new laptop and headed out — only to find they now open at 10 and not at 8 (which is when I usually grab breakfast). Now she’s reusing anything else and I have to figure out how to scotch her objection.

Very bad news. While we’ve suffered through some very weak writing for quite a while now, we have generally had quality art to fall back on. I can’t specifically say I remember Ettinger’s earlier work on the Minute Mystery, I really can’t say that any of the MM artists have impressed me. I really don’t want to see some artist’s “interpretation” of Dick Tracy… I want to see Dick Tracy presented in the classic way we have come to expect him and his world to look. When you think of other classic strips, can you imagine someone “putting their own personal twist” on Peanuts, Garfield, Beetle Bailey, (or take your own choice of any number of strips)? To me, the idea seems absurd

What in the hell is even going on? At the beginning someone starts coughing so Sam magically knows he was poisoned? Then all this weird incoherent exposition?
