Disney has gotten too expensive and too powerful. ESPN, ABC etc. A monopoly on entertainment.
Disney did used to make direct-to-video sequels, until they put a stop to that in the late-2000’s.
And Prequels, and Remakes, and “Inspired By”, and etcetera, and etcetera, and etcetera…

Empire Strikes back was better than Star Wars. Gremlins 2 was better than Gremlins 1.
