When she was 80 years old, my mother tried to search on-line for her best-friend when they were 14 years old, and that friend had dumped her suddenly without explanation. All those years she felt hurt, and wanted to know the reason why.
British comedian sarah millican did a routine where she was contacted by one of her school bullies. All she replied was I don’t remember you that favorably.
I have at least a couple of Facebook friends with whom I was far from “friends” in elementary school. Many people, given time and a chance, do mature rather than remain less-than-friendly for life.
On the other hand, one former high school classmate of mine with whom I got along fabulously and had great respect for our my school years….well, after becoming Facebook friends I found out had turned out to be so diametrically on the opposite far end of the political spectrum from me that we unfriended, later tried re-friending, and ultimately permanently un-friended. There was just no way to peacefully co-exist even virtually on the walls of Facebok.
I’ve actually reached out to people who bullied me in school. Not to give them grief. And a lot apologized. I wouldn’t be close friends with them, but I interact on FB with them sometimes. The one guy is a chef now and I would give anything to have him cook a meal for me. I’m not much of a steak or roast beef eater but he makes even that look good to me.
Been out of high school for (almost) 37 years. I’m not friends with hardly anyone I went to school with. I’ve also never been to a reunion. Why go back to see all those people who would never give me the time of day in school.

I’ve never been to a high school reunion. In fact I don’t remember ever being asked.

Fortunately, many people manage to pull their head out of their backsides after graduation

I was an unknown in school. I was not even worthy of being made to feel like crap, and I didn’t care.

Facebook and Friends is an oxymoron.

I can’t conceive of why you would want to, unless you’re looking for an avenue for retribution. And I doubt anyone would provide that.

To those of you who were bullied: It wasn’t about you. It was about their insecurities.

School, workplace, distant (but not distant enough) family members…

Dropped out using Facebook over a year ago. Ugh.
