The government that governs best is the one that governs least. I love a “do nothing” congress. If they’re doing something, it’s usually going to impinge upon our lives in some way.

It’s true that Republicans don’t govern.

They instead want decisions to be made only by Their Messiah. It is written into their presidential platform that they want only whatever Their Messiah decides.

Their only legislation is tax cuts for the rich.

Republicans are a lot like old time County Commissioners, but in place of fixing potholes they’re digging them.

Republicans want a government that punishes their perceived enemies, which are numerous.

Between passing no meaningful investigations, wasting innumerable hours on dead end investigations in the President and his family, and continually showing slavish devotion to Insurrectionist45, this House has reached a new level of incompetence.

Yes. You don’t want people who hate Government in Government. It’s like hiring a Communist to be CEO of Goldman Sachs.

Harry Truman was re-elected in 1948 by campaigning against a “do-nothing Congress”> Sounds like a plan.

Republicans were tolerable when Democrats had corrected all the abuses of the gilded age leading to the greater depression. Do nothing is ok if everything’s fine. Everything is not fine. Less government does not mean ungovernable.

All politicians end up corrupt. Every. Single. Politician. They may start off with noble motives, and actually get elected – once – with pure hearts. But the system pollutes them. They end up being in the pocket of some special-interest group, and then they’re done for.

It’s too bad the American political system is so bad. It’s also too bad that it’s still the best one in the world. We end up getting the government we deserve. Not the one we need, but the one we vote for.

A small government means that a lot of stuff the government is good at goes bad and Republicans can complain about how bad things are and you need to elect more Republicans so that they can do nothing but collect a paycheck for doing nothing to fix what they broke in order to have something to complain about.

I guess it goes to show you how important it is to have a functional government with lawmakers that put country above party. I don’t care if republicans are in charge as long as they do their job. These incompetents from James Comer to Matt Gaetz are absolutely the worst

Less government is not the same as worse government!

Beware, Winslow. The fact that they keep a promise to try to harm you doesn’t make that a “good” thing.
