His “For Sale” sign cost four hundred dollars more than expected.

She’d have paid more for a painting of a roast pig and fixins on a platter.

As a hobby artist, I have a lot of my work for sale in galleries and consignment shops with other artists. I have found that it’s not necessarily the quality of the art but the signature that matters. While I do sell from time to time and have done a few commissions, my peers, seem to do much better and honestly there are a few whose work looks amateurish and priced higher but they are well known in the area. But I do it for the enjoyment. Any money I make just goes back in to pay for the hobby.

Art is whatever you can get away with.

It would have been more appropriate if the painting of fishermen hauling in their catch.

Great one. A sucker born any minute and it’s the sign orderer’s wife. Delicious.

I like the “looking past the thumb for perspective” being interpreted as hitchhiking.
