The disappointment on their tiny, little faces is wonderful. My Sara didn’t eat any flowers, but she did throw up throughout the entire living room yesterday. A lovely muted salmon color. Oddly enough NOT the color of her food.
Not to be too critical, but if memory serves me the viewmaster only showed stills on a disc. It didn’t film or record them. Has that changed in the 2 centuries since I last saw on? LOL Either way, I get the joke. And it is quite funny.
I remember View-Masters! I had a couple Disney ones. :D
I love seeing how much Georgia’s art style has evolved. It reminds me of when I collected Garfield books and how different it looked at the beginning. Meanwhile, I still can’t draw stick figures, LOL.
“Viewmaster” brings back memories of the 70s in the summer, sitting outside drinking strawberry Quick and being amazed at the stereo views of the space program and far off countries. And while I’ve visited over 30 countries since then, I still haven’t got to space. (But I will finally get my Lupin astronaut tattoo next month)
Ah, a BCN retrospective! I love it! Hopefully it includes highlights of the introductions of our memorable cast, along with maybe a few snapshots of tiny men trapped in TVs or cats receiving nicknames.
Georgia just posted: "We go now live to BREAKING CAT NEWS! The first BCN comic strip was scribbled down quickly on a piece of printer paper, probably over 30-45 seconds, and painted just as swiftly. As the comic gained momentum, I had to slowly evolve the artwork to match how I actually draw comics, rather than suddenly change the style from the quick sketch that had gotten so popular so fast. The first months of footage are delightfully very different, but also some of the funniest strips I think! What are some of your favorite early BCN strips?
ELVIS: No, Ora Zella. What we did was carefully scribe pictures, in reverse, on clay tablets that were then baked until hard. We then smeared different parts of them with various plant juices, and impressed the image on sheets of papyrus. These were then hand delivered by the not quite mythical mail men, who walked through three feet of snow, uphill both ways. And we did our reporting in primordial darkness, back when I was a kitten.
I’m also looking at panel 3 and wondering whether OZ and Iggy are wondering who threw up in the hallway . . . was it the ever-dignified Elvis? Did someone get in trouble?
Elvis-Anum: It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since we’ve been in the palace.
Puckmosis: I know. Remember the freak rainstorm on the coast?
Elvis: I know. That intrepid weather cat was my inspiration for being a pirate corsair.
Puck: I remember it like it was yesterday:
Hello. Jim Catore here. Reporting live in a once in a lifetime event. There is a rainstorm the like of which we haven’t seen in decades. I would advise everyone to stay inside where it’s safe. And who is this white smol cat?
Smol Cat:Hi! I’m Lupinium! I want to see how fast I can tumble in the wind!
Jim: It’s really dangerous out here. But I can see you’re a real cat of adventure.
Lupinium:Someday I’ll be the Royal Jester at the Palace!
Elvis: Who’d a thought ten years ago we would be here?
I wonder if we will see a flashback of them discovering the AV equipment left behind by the RCO crew—at least I’ve always assumed that’s where it all started even though we didn’t meet Tillie until the first Halloween special, and didn’t meet the rest of the gang until the second Halloween special, also known as the lost footage.

But everyone looks wonderful in their fancies now! And on second thought, Elvis rocked that raincoat, actually.

Okay, I have to say it, Ora Zella in her puffy-sleeve pink gown is Red Carpet worthy.
No “throwing up on the Red Carpet” jokes, please!

Iggy and Ora Zella look as if they’re dressed up for the prom. (When you teach HS for 19 years, you see a lot of prom photos.)

No Ora, Elvis was a lot slimmer, but I think he looks very becoming with some meat on his bones. ♥
