Active learning. She has a point there. Does anybody remember, dozens of years ago, ‘Subliminal Tapes’? They were supposed to improve your mind while you played them at night while you slept!
I tried one. Waste of money. I couldn’t remember one bit what was even on the tape except some white noise! I could get the same white noise for free just by tuning my AM radio to a blank frequency.

I took notes to force me to concentrate on the lecture. I rarely used them for review.
