    Nobody else offered what she did. Offer less. If any offer more than that, they get the prize. If it’s still more than anyone else has offered, he realizes he has thrown away money. Lisa Douglas was a master at it with Mr Hainey.

    Physical assets? Most of those dotcoms rented furniture and office space. “Scavengers” wound up fighting over their debt. At the time, customer lists and the related personal data were probably the most valuable item.
