I still think ferrets are from another universe. Our laws of gravity just do not apply to them! But there is one law that applies in any universe, time or place. Everyone LOVES Tommy!

The chaos cat-noodles strike again!

It suddenly hit me just now, while listening to certain music…. The Ferrets are Nitzer Ebb’s Violent Playground, in physical (or near physical) form. Just with cute little faces. In particular the one in the last panel!

From my physical chemistry-kinetics class way back in the ’80s: The Second Law of Thermodynamics states that the state of entropy (disorder-chaos) of the entire universe, as an isolated system, will always increase over time. The second law also states that the changes in the entropy in the universe can never be negative. There should be an addendum to the textbook that certain creatures such as the ferrets living with Tommy and certain felines like Lupin and Ora Zella are living proof that this law is the truth indeed!

What happened to their tiny hats?

Tommy is so easy-going, I’m sure he can handle the Great Ferreting Rumpus, but I wonder how is Sophie holding up?

“Tommy, can you pin one down for an interview?”

“It’s not possible to pin a tube sock, Lupin. No matter how skilled a wrestler.”

Okay so we have, going by shirts and that lastpanel: Scott pilgrim, rainbow and sneak attack, at least till they get names.

Ferrets are chaos personified. Cute chaos, but still chaos.

Call Bucky Cat from ‘Get Fuzzy’. He has some ideas on how to deal with ferrets. But then again he generally ends up on the losing end.

I’m surprised that no one has pointed out the RSORFTB (rare sighting of rear ferret toe beans).

LOOK OUT TOMM…(BOOMPH!) Um, never mind!

Ferrets are strict carnivores. You probably don’t want to have them around mice, hamsters, or birds.

Napping, hiding, and attacking, sounds like a pretty sweet life. Nice to see that they love Tommy!

Lupinium: So we have everything set for tomorrow’s game. We even have genuine diamonds for the Basic Ball diamond.

Dooky Ferret: Thanks, Lupinium. Are you sure the gems will be alright?

Lupinium: No problem. The Artisans said these were created by the great elf Fe-Anaro. And only he could destroy them. Ora Z tested that theory, and it’s true.

Dooky: Now it’s time to get everyone together for practice. Tinker, Evers, and Chance are here. Just have to find the rest of them.

Lupinium: I have that all taken care of.

Thomios: Honey scones for everyone after practice!

Ferrets are carpet sharks, and their Jaws theme is played by crashing cymbals.

I appreciate that Georgia has drawn the two ferrets with gray masks slightly differently a la Robber Mice: one has a black nose and the other has a pink nose.

If only we could find a rescue owl, the ferret problem would be solved. Where oh were could we ever find a rescue owl. (Hint, hint, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, you know who I mean, huh, huh?)

Getting a flashback to the Lost In Space episode ‘Revolt of the Androids’ with Verda and IDAK – “CRUSH, KILL, DESTROY!”

Except the saying is now “NAP, HIDE, ATTACK!”

I think we first saw the ferrets in the March 3rd comic (Thanks, rroxxanna). There has been some speculation about Sophie’s reaction to them. In the last panel on March 3rd, Sophie appears absolutely delighted with them. Not sure if she is reacting to their hats or to the ferrets themselves. But it’s interesting that she seems so delighted with them.
