I work for a school district and recently had to compile data on bathroom-related discipline violations (really!). A very large chunk of them were students using going to the bathroom as a way to skip class. The rest were fights and vaping in the bathroom.

Our teachers started a timer when we requested an emerge-ncy bathroom break. We had to be back by the time it went off.

I tell my HS kids they can go to the bathroom, but they have to leave their phones behind. Amazing how many of them suddenly lose the need to go.
