Good morning all. Dry can I get 2 over easy, bacon, sausage, grits, and toast with strawberry preserves or honey. I have my own Cokey Cola as per usual. I’ll probably have to cut back on some of this stuff after I visit my doctor today or tomorrow and find out the results of my blood work. I might find out what the deal is with my back too as the MRI results are in. I mentioned to some of my friends that the noises the MRI machine made would be a pretty good rhythm line for a techno-industrial song. “It has a good beat, and I could dance to it, so I gave it a 78.”

Good morning, tribe! I can’t spend time this morning under the BT, but hopefully this evening. Beautiful weather is forecasted for today - not quite shorts weather, but at least maybe no jacket needed during the afternoon. Cleo - No worries. I don’t always notice when people don’t respond, unless I’ve asked them a question. For example, my hubby & I are going to meet a group at a restaurant that we’ve never met before (just on-line). He described us this way: “She will be talking and I will be pretending to be listening.”

Something from a Meyers Briggs survey I did a number of years ago that classifies people by their tendancies

E vs I extrovert vs introvert N vs S intuitive vs sensory F vs T Feeler vs Thinker P vs J Perceiver vs Judger

I am an ISTJ, the exact oposite of ENFP. ISTJ’s make good accountants.

If you already know a person’s type, it helps to better understand the person your dealing with.

For example intuitive people can better see things outside the box. They can read things or visualize into a picture where sensory people have to see it to believe it. They describe exactly what’s in the picture.

Lonewolf personality types identified by the Myers-Briggs Personality Test.

Introvert - Extrovert iNtuition - Sensing Thinking - Feeling Judging - Perceiving

If you do a search on Myers-Briggs Personality Test you can get a printable test or take one online. Tons of information out there.

Good Morning, all you yappy persons of the crazy types out there!

That odd bright…whosis…is also here in the sky today, and above freezing–so we will have some melting, Which means slicker spots once it freezes again tonight. And gingerly walking along even during the day whenever there’s snow or ice underfoot.

It will take more than a day or two to get rid of the accumulation of white stuff.

I am an INFP, borderline INTP, particularly strong on I and N. So, I get energy be being by myself, thinking up things (or reading, and so on), and like to remember things by seeing the patterns. Hence a comment I made recently, over at Pibgorn I believe: I only remember details when they are relevant at the time.

Even how I remembered it was at Pibgorn is telling: the comment was in regard to a story plot–which I had correct–but I could not remember title, author, or where I’d read it. But the plot was related to the events there, so that was where I must have made the comment.

Finest moment as an INTP: I was eating breakfast with another INTP, a Math professor, when he remembered a problem he’d seen in a math journal. He could not remember the problem, or even the answer, but only the form of the answer, which was enough information for us to work backwards to the problem and solution. Now that’s a couple of true intuitives at work.

@Grog, yes, well, he’s insisting that Calvin is ENFP based on the interpretation of what makes an ENFP tick vs. an INFP. I’m calling it as I sees it: Calvin has few, if any friends, prefers to be by himself, where his imagination can run wild, does not have loads of others he must be with, making telephone calls or chatting, and so on. Introvert, not Extravert.

These systems work best as descriptive, not proscriptive. That it, when they describe and characterize the observable behavior and not telling the persons being analyzed how they must think or act.

@Tabby, all of us need a break occasionally–just be sure that the break does not get away from you. Take an hour to walk in the sun with a friend. A twenty minute nap. Or read something fun for half an hour.

Then, when you get back to work, start with something that will only take a short time, even if it’s just one step in a bigger project. Like, instead of writing a paper, figure out what the topic sentence will be. Or figure out how to do one type of math problem. That way you start with the feeling of having accomplished something.

I never really clicked with a description of my type as others have–especially one ENFP I know–until I read about the INFP as described in Sixteen Men (I think by Loren Pederson)–since the type is pretty rare to start with, and because it is “opposite” every masculine stereotype there is, it presents special challenges for those who live it.

You know, there’s a faith type test based on Meyer-Briggs. We use it a lot in spiritual formation.

Oh well - I’m me, and I’ve learned no one can really put me in a box of behavior unless I let them!

    Meyers-Briggs Prayers

I don’t care what personality type you are … these will leave you laughing (and also a bit thoughtful…).

ISTJ: Lord, help me to relax about insignificant details beginning tomorrow at 11:41:23 a.m. E.S.T.

ISTP: God, help me to consider people’s feelings, even if most of them ARE hypersensitive.

ESTP: God, help me to take responsibility for my own actions, even though they’re usually NOT my fault.

ESTJ: God, help me to not try to RUN everything. But, if You need some help, just ask.

ISFJ: Lord, help me to be more laid back and help me to do it EXACTLY right.

ISFP: Lord, help me to stand up for my rights (if you don’t mind my asking).

ESFP: God, help me to take things more seriously, especially parties and dancing.

ESFJ: God, give me patience, and I mean right NOW.

INFJ: Lord, help me not to be a perfectionist. (Did I spell that correctly?)

INFP: God, help me finish everything I sta

ENFP: God, help me to keep my mind on one th- – Look a bird! – at a time.

ENFJ: God, help me to do only what I can and trust you for the rest. Do you mind putting that in writing?

INTJ: Lord, keep me open to others ideas, wrong though they may be.

INTP: Lord, help me to be less independent, but let me do it my way.

ENTP: Lord, help me follow established procedures today. On second thought, I’ll settle for a few minutes.

ENTJ: Lord, help me slow downandnotrushthroughwhatIdo.

ISTJ: Lord, help me to relax about insignificant details beginning tomorrow at 11:41:23 a.m. E.S.T. ISTP: God, help me to consider people’s feelings, even if most of them ARE hypersensitive. ESTJ: God, help me to not try to RUN everything. But, if You need some help, just ask. ISFJ: Lord, help me to be more laid back and help me to do it EXACTLY right. INTP: Lord, help me to be less independent, but let me do it my way. ENTP: Lord, help me follow established procedures today. On second thought, I’ll settle for a few minutes.

While those accounts are active, someone could come up with a similar name, but not the exact name. Cleo you could add Booker as your last name for a while.

Yeah, I am sure I would mess it up if I tried ti handle two or more identities. And I know some people might be concerned if I disappeared, and that seems rather iconsiderate. I start to worry when I notice people not posting.

Just read some of the previous posts on here. Seems to be a few fringes running around the gocomics board. What a pity, but * I think most of us have them figured out.*

Lonewolf, do you remember “Petrified Forest” with Bogie breaking into the movies big as Duke Mantee. A very young Bette Davis starred.

Lonewolf I admittedly do not have many Bette Davis films (only 3), but I love that movie. Bogie is a very convincing killer.

Well it’s about time for me to call it a night, unless I wake up in time to make some of the initial early morning posts again.

Dry just remember this late breaking news that turkeys can’t fly and may this good news be yours.

Turkeys CAN fly - at least the wild ones can. We have one that visits regularly and flies into the trees. But the frozen ones can’t - they land with a bang and the domesticated ones are probably too flat. I would use the word from BirdBrains but then those who hadn’t already might Google it. Guess everyone is gone…
