This really makes me laugh because it hits so close to home. A few years before my wife left me, she kept harping on me to paint the interior of the house, starting with the bathroom. I didn’t mind doing it, but it wasn’t so bad that it couldn’t wait a few years. Painting is a big job if you’re doing it right and takes time and your house becomes a construction zone. Anyway, my wife tried to force my hand by stripping all the wallpaper off the bathroom walls and buying paint and brushes etc. So, for two years before she left, that bathroom sat in a state of disrepair. Last year I finally determined by ‘’my standards’’ that the interior of the house needed painting. It was a big job and I got it done, and best of all I got to choose the colors!
When I used to hang a lot of wallcoverings, I got a call from a guy who was desperate for me to come and finish the job he and his wife had started. He said over the phone in hushed tones that they got so angry with each other that they were threatening divorce, so I like to think that I saved their marriage. (of course they still might’ve broken up sometime later, but that’s beside the point! Lol!)
