We own a smidge of stock in a formerly family company… and they’ve blown it on sending their forms to the owners. So we get to do taxes TWICE! An “estimate” along with a request for extension (which is automatically granted) and then sometime before August, an amended tax submission. Needless to say, I’m a bit peeved at that company… But hey. We got our extension (and guestimated payment) in day before yesterday. Whoop. Te. Do.
I will be sending out two checks on Monday. One goes to my successful First World Blue State that helps keep down the MAGAT infestation and the other goes to keep the lights on in the Third World Freeloading S***hole Red States like Kansas and Arkansas so they don’t wallow in their own filth. That is the one that hurts.
Paid my taxes and then got a refund check for a smaller amount. ??? It said a letter would follow and it looked real. Nowadays things are not what they seem, but I cashed it and waited for said letter. It finally showed today. They decreased a penalty amount for not estimating taxes. That was nice.
I am so happy I live where tax filing is online and takes 10 minutes, tops, only because I own a farm and sold some stocks. Otherwise it would take less than a minute.
Mine got more complicated due to the assisted-living expenses and the death of my husband. It was already complicated because of self-employment, working in two states, etc. I’m waiting to hear if the accountant has to file an extension.
I lived in Santa Barbara in the 70s. I was frequently stopped by young people asking for the time (watch wearing was out of fashion for the moment). No matter what time I replied, the response was “Wow.”
It was always Wow O’clock in Santa Barbara in the 70s. :)
Maybe this has been commented on in earlier days, but what has Wiley done with her dad’s head. He doesn’t look the same as usual at all. I’ve noticed it just lately. He never used to have such a skinny face. He is the same guy that hangs out in the diner, right?

Time for Danae to tread carefully. Monday is deadline day. There’ll be a lot of Holy @#%$# and other mixed blessing in the next 3 days.

Back in the 1960’s the post office stayed open ’til midnight on 4/15, and we usually made it by 11 PM. This year I filed in January.
