Here’s a random story: Last night (or, really, the morning of April 15th, 2024), I dreamt that I was visiting the GoComics website to see what today’s Buckles strip would be.
The first panel was Buckles lying on the floor, wearing his dog-hair sweater, and looking a bit nervous, as if he was trying to avoid some form of embarrassment. I recall he said something like, “I hope nobody tries to pull any tricks behind me, now!” In the next panel, Scrappy stood behind Buckles, looking just underneath his tail with a mischievous grin. He was plotting to yoink out a long strand of dog fur from his behind, and said something snarky, like, “Heh! I’m really going to make him squeal this time!” In the last panel, Scrappy is blown away by a large gust as Buckles breaks wind.
A squirrel used to wait for my cat to come out every morning…several runs around the yard and the squirrel would go up the tree. One day the cat followed but didn’t get very high…just high enough to hang on for dear life. So the squirrel turned around and came back down over the cats head and body.
