Most Sundays I watch my 6 yr old granddaughter to give her parents a break. Today she was here for 6 hours (usually 3) and they kept texting to see if she was ready to go home. She never was. She was enjoying her break from them!
Our nearest grandchild is youngest daughters 9yo son. Only thing he wants to do is play with the computer his parents gave him. He just sits quietly and plays games, never hear a word unless he loses, then he throws a gigantic temper tantrum, throwing his computer he has broken 2 of them, which his parents replaced
I used to occasionally babysit my step-grandchildren. They hated it when it was time to leave. I taught them things like pencil drawing and how to properly handle a cat. Their mother treated them as a burden and swore at them.
We have not been fortunate enough to have children. But at various times we have babysat our nieces and one of my nephews. This is a long range of time of visits as the eldest is in her early 30s and the youngest is barely a teen.

His parents shouldn’t replace them if he throws it and breaks it. He needs to learn to control his temper.
