They can be trained. I did so in college, though inadvertently. I always fed them in one corner of their tank. One time, I went to a different corner, and they went to the original one. They caught on slowly, slowing their gaping at the food, then they hunted it down and fed properly.
I had tropical fish for many years. Then in my teens we got our first dog and have preferred dogs ever since. I like a pet I can hug and in exchange get a wet kiss.
“…one of the ancestors of many double reed instruments, the Shawm. As you’ll hear in the video above, the Shawm has a very distinctive sound.
The shawm came on the scene in Europe in the 13th century and became one of the most popular instruments during the late medieval period and into the renaissance era.
Typically, they were made out of a single piece of wood that had finger holes cut into it so that the musician can change the pitch. Like other wind instruments, it then has a flared bell at the end.
As with most types of instruments, Shawms come in lots of different sizes, the larger they are the lower their pitch and vice versa, the smaller they are, the higher the pitch."
Any family ties here to a certain Afghan hound, Nancy? : )
Dogs actually start out seeing hugs as a sign of aggression but learn over time that we mean well and that it’s a sign of love. they learn to enjoy it, too. Ever notice that when you try to hug a puppy they tend to squirm? There are probably exceptions. I admit I was quite surprised to hear that they don’t like hugs at first. Actually, every pet in this comic is an exception in the very best ways.

Huh, just came across some interesting info:
