The reason should be obvious.

If the people in charge there don’t want so many to leave, maybe they should try that “successful strategy” of Joe Biden: Just say “Don’t!”.

New York too? I thought it was just California.

The best thing I found in New York was the road to Quebec.

If that sign said California, I would add, “Bye! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out,” lol.

Despise the citizens, and welcome the you know who. (and they wonder why NYC is headed to hell in a hand basket)

Do you pay a tax for leaving?

I remember seeing a sign saying; You are now leaving VATICAN CITY. May God be with you and watch over you and keep your journey safe. We expect you back next Sunday! You hear?

A similar sign would work for California, too.

head to Kalifornia but beware the new-some of their existence and sanitation. NO stopping anywhere between as we do not wish for either virus to be caught in “fly-over” country as some of us have realized that there is no cure for “stupid” and “stupid” is very infectious with no known cure. js

California has The Wealth and Exit Tax, can NY be far behind?

I left decades ago.

I still occasionally visit friends who live there… and others who also used to live there, but I’m very glad that I no longer live there. However, it’s not for the “reasons” most used in these comments for attacking The City.

New Jersey has an exit tax and Pennsylvania has a deemed sale tax that is collected when you sell your home and leave the state.

Leaving Brooklyn the sign says, “Fuhgeddaboudit”. Entering is “How Sweet It Is!”

The Big Apple is rotten to the core!

When you leave the Bronx, the sign reads, “Getoutahere”.

New York is all Gotham City and no Batman.

Wonder what the sign says on entrance to the city?
