2) (More serious.) Because if they’re canned, they must come from a company that’s more committed to profit than to product.

When I make my own, it’s a different story.

That’s old trivia. It’s not that there’s so little, it’s that when they cook it, it melts into the sauce (probably because it’s mostly fat, as mentioned above).

Legally “Pork and Beans” would have to have more pork than beans. This is why it is known as Beans with Pork.
