These remind me of the small roadkill animals used by the Vermont artist Marion Waldo McChesney in her creations. We have a small plate which has a design that’s posed almost exactly like that blue-green one in the lower left corner. She used a dead frog to make the impression. We visited her workshop while on a road trip through Vermont many years ago, and purchased it from her.
“Nothus” is Greek in origin and therefore would not be acceptable classical Latin. “Spurii” would be a more accurate term —a spurned child who was rejected as legitimate when set upon its potential father’s knees.
Squamates of any species – except iguanas – are welcome on my patio in paradise. They eat mosquitos and other pesky insects and cause no harm. Iguanas, on the other hand, are pooping, pestilent pests!!

Or, as My Gal Salamander often said, “Illegitimi non carborundum!” But please … Not in front of the Newts!

Looked it up. It’s more or less syntactically correct. I’m not so sure about some of the life forms.
