You’re both right!

Sugary breakfast cereals aren’t technically food.

That’s the reason I can’t have potato chips around the house.

The only real food in a “grocery” store is all located around the walls: fresh fruit and vegetables(make sure you wash those), fresh meats, bread, dairy and eggs. Anything on a shelf in the center is supplies !

The “serving size” on some foods is laughable. Sometimes waaay small so they can claim you don’t get too much salt or sugar per serving. And sometimes really huge so they can claim you get whole GRAMS of protein. (Yep, they seem to depend on the idea that “seven GRAMS” of protein must sound like a lot (that’s a quarter of an ounce, btw).

One sitting? No. Clothespin? All the time.

I must conclude that Pringles and soft drinks are organic.

A container is a serving.

Peels and rinds are re-sealable?

It’s odd that underwear and socks come in resealable packaging, but potato chips don’t. Also, Oscar Mayer had resealable hot dog packages, but recently discontinued them.

As small as the bags are it is hard not to finish them in one sitting, assuming you could afford it in the first place.

Never bought any of those “chip bag clips” sold in stores. Clothespins work fine.

Serving size schmerving size.

Kid nailed it. The term ‘serving size’ is designed for just that – to be eaten in one session, regardless of the time of day or your health. The size of the bag and the advert on the bag are to make you feel hungry for another after you’ve eaten the first.

The additional cost for a resealable container must bring a higher sales price or at least some other benefit like a higher market share. If it leads to less sale because people buy less frequently the thus less spoiling product it is a really bad idea, marketing-wise.

Saw that coming a mile away. Still funny though.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Every size of potato chip bags are all single serving.

When I open my cereal, I immediately dump it into a ziplock bag and put the remainder back in the box.

Bacon should come in resealable packages. 8 oz. of cheese slices DO come in resealable packages, but 16 oz. or larger packages do not. Where’s the logic?

Couldn’t buy a potato at the supermarket – each potato was INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED in plastic. Plastic wrap world.

A wise woman once informed/warned me that every bag of Ruffles potato chips is a single serving bag of Ruffles potato chips. And she’s been proven right over and over!

I like the way she thinks.

They can both be right, of course. :-)

I’ve stopped buying Barilla pasta because the boxes are hard to close.

Not necessarily mutually exclusive theories…
