She’s using the bookstore as a source of ideas to fulfill elsewhere. Thus leading to the demise of the bookstore. Back in the early 70s our town had a very good mom and pop audio store. They gave advice, would demo equipment for you, all around full service. Several years later a “budget” audio chain opened a store in the area. People would go to mom and pop for advice and then buy at budget (rumor had it budget sent them to get advice). Eventually mom and pop went out of business and budget couldn’t answer any customer “what do I need” questions. Then everybody was going around wondering why mom and pop went bust.
And if it weren’t for taxes the libraries would probably start closing also. One of many reasons I don’t mind paying taxes. Of course there are also many reasons I do mind paying them.
Sigh! Don’t take the pic. Look it up on Amazon. Take a screen shot or put the selection in a save-for-later file. Taking a picture of something you are not going to buy(even tho I do it too) is rude. The level of rudness amounts to a minor annoyance IMO.
This behavior is why a very popular tile store shut down. People would go to look at the display, and then order online. They forgot that one great thing about that store was that they gave references to truly competent tile installers. We used them for a kitchen and four bathrooms.

Shop at the library first.

Sad to say, a lot of the books I want to read aren’t in the library.

I’m guilty of copying recipes from books. That was before I had internet at home.
