Too close to the action. Someone in Nazi Germany thought it would be great cinema to have an olympic track star with a torch light a rocket. He disappeared when the rocket fell over and exploded.
I just read a story that a German company is using highly-refined candle wax and liquid oxygen to propel their rocket. Launched yesterday and it worked OK.
I drink a lot of that carbonated water that has a bit of fruit flavor but no sweetener. One day I thought it would be nice to have just a touch of sweetness. A pinch, a tiny pinch, of sugar. Volcano.

I was wondering whether it wouldn’t be more effective reversing the bottles, and attaching them to the rocket…

Would have expected a more sophisticated Menthos-Delivery-System. Has anyone ever tried to optimize that?

Granddaughter set up this in their big back yard far from the house … upon dropping in the Mentos, she personally rocketed away from the ‘lab.’

Shouldn’t those bottles read diet cola?

There was some anime about rockets where they actually tried this. Didn’t quite get the results they wanted but still very cool.
