(My youngest cousin, age nine, is visiting from out of state. A few months previously, I adopted a stray kitten who is growing into a shy but lovely little cat; her tail, notably, is much fluffier than the rest of her fur, and I call it “the puff”. I’ve shown my cousin how to play with the cat toys, and my cat’s gotten comfortable enough to get within arm’s reach.)
Cousin: “Ooh, her tail is so fluffy! Can I?”
Me: demonstrating “If you start with her head and run your hand along her like this, she may let you admire the puff.”
Old cookies covered in who knows what. Ketchup, coffee grounds, green beans. Yuck. And Floof agrees. Cookies off the table are one thing, cookies found in trash another.
The clean up – I remember wishing I could line my child’s room in metal with a slope on the floor going to the center. There would have been a hose that only I could use, and I would just hose the room down once a week. It sounded really useful, considering the things my child did in that room when I wasn’t looking. I still don’t know to this day how she broke the folding mirror door or the ceiling light fixture. My best guess is a broom handle and a tiny spider.

Yup. One does the work, the other gets the smirk. And Floof wins and loses.

This Ain’t No Puff Piece

Cousin: whispers reverently “The Puff…”
(The two got along surprisingly well!)

It’s a myth that dogs and cats are always enemies. Through personal experience, they can be fast friends. Floof and Sirius are so cute together!

Very cute.
Is this the first time we’ve ‘heard’ from one of Kate’s parents?

Sirius take smack talk really well, with a mouthful of cookies. (❁´◡`❁) Kat’ll get it when she’s a homeowner ;))

Trust Sirius to find the positive in any situation! ♥ Now it’s Floof’s turn to be unhappy.
