The two-party system exists because you need a majority of the electoral college to win the Presidency, not a plurality. Three strong parties means Congress picks the President. As long as that’s the case, you’ll have two major parties. Both the Democrats and the Republicans are coalitions of smaller groups that joined together to get 51%.

Here in KY in order to get a 3rd party recognized as an actual party they have to take a significant portion of the vote in a federal election. Which will never happen.

But the right wing republicans are making it tougher and tougher for people to vote. Apparently, they’re too blind to see it affect them too.

Parliamentary system would be fine. Let me know when you get the revised constitution ratified.

Crying about the U.S. pretty much only operating with a 2-party system is one of the Dynamic Duo’s major whinethemes. Now, ask me if these 2 geniuses have ever, once, discussed, for example, the wonderful product from the other end of the party spectrum, otherwise known as the nutter factions Netanyahu teamed up with to stay in power and the subsequent beauty they have rendered.

When I ran for Town Trustee in the village I lived in, in Illinois, I had to get 25 signatures of residents. A lot of knocking on doors.

The process for an office like Governor would require an army of people to get a lot of signatures on a petition.
