In Michigan, July was the best month. Not so in Arizona where there’s the specter of “monsoon.” I learned after the first year living here to schedule my summer time off in May and June instead of June and July as I did in Michigan. July is Arizona’s counterpart to Michigan’s August – unpredictable with too much of a chance of crappy weather.
June has to beat October when you’re a school kid, because of summer vacation. (In the Northern Temperate Zone, I mean.) Having aged far beyond that point, and too enfeebled to be called on any more to cut grass or rake leaves or shovel snow, I’d pick October over June even if it weren’t for Halloween. Fall colors, cooler temperatures, lower humidity, fewer allergens, fewer insects. Yay!
I like winter months, especially if it snows. If it snows we stay in the house. I get work done – housework, work-work, work for the 2 non-profits I am on the board of… If it is not snowing – though in the past years most times it rains he has us stay in also – he wants to go out (and waste my time). We are paying an annual fee for snow clearance, so it doesn’t cost more if it snows more.

Suns and skies and clouds of June,
And flowers of June together,
Ye cannot rival for one hour
October’s bright blue weather.

I like June. My flowers come out, and it looks like I won’t be moving for at least another six months, so I’ll get to enjoy them.

You should have been more specific and said weather-wise, October knows it can’t compete.
