I bet he’s the most famous alcoholic in fictional history. That doesn’t mean her the only one because I can name others. There’s Otis from The Andy Griffith Show and Sue Ellen from Dallas and Gary Euwing from Knots Landing. Darren Stephens and his boss from Bewitched did their share of drinking too, and their wives probably drank as well.
I’m in my 50’s, and have never seen a “Bond” film. However, I have seen the “Austin Powers” parody comedy films. They got even funnier when I found out they were parodying Bond films.
James Bond was my hero when I was a young man. While I’m not a martini man, I liked his style and there was never a bad situation that he couldn’t get himself out of. That is a trait that he and I do share. AND if Gladys wants to emulate Galore, SALUD to Brutus……
Sunday morning breakfast together, a pleasant recap of their Saturday night movie date, bonding over a new shared interest, some gentle humor from Gladys, and not a zinger (or mother-in-law) in sight! What a delightful Sunday strip!
And if Brutus and Gladys are like me and my wife, they’ll be further indulging this new mutual interest. If their local theater isn’t doing a Bond film festival, they can find the movies on various cable channels and streaming services.

“Coffee Galore” because Go Comics ban the real name of the character (P****y)?

If she’d been a Bond Girl, they wouldn’t have made anymore Bond movies.

I’ve seen Fort Knox depository from fairly close. One hole of the golf course used to be within a couple hundred yards of it.

My favorite Bond girl was Winterspring Summerfall, though the Galore girl was a close second.

Now the visual contrast Gladys with Honor Blackman is stark and disconcerting.
Make me wonder if Mr. Sansom recently watched Goldfinger.
