If I wanted to disrupt an non-violent demonstration, there are three ways to do it.

Organize a non-violent counter-demonstration.

Organize a violent counter-demonstration.

Or if I don’t want the backlash of the latter, infiltrate the demonstration and instigate violence.

The latter is known as black propaganda. Black propaganda is communications or actions that are intended to deceive, manipulate, or influence people while concealing the true source of the information. It often involves spreading false or misleading information disguised as coming from a different, often opposing, source. The goal of black propaganda is typically to undermine the credibility or reputation of individuals, organizations, or governments, or to sow confusion and discord among the public.

Black propaganda relies heavily on lies, deceits and misinformation.

Boy, has she ever got it wrong!

The truth does set you free, but usually not in material ways. And it doesn’t tend to elevate your social standing.

This may sound trivial in the grand scheme of the disaster. But. But. Let’s not forget that four years ago graduating high school students missed out on their ceremonies and the celebration of their achievement. And whose graduation ceremonies are in danger of being canceled this year?
