The planet isn’t strange. But the people sure are.

If there in no candidate to vote FOR, there is always a candidate to vote AGAINST.

and by “Earth” you mean “USA”

I will not vote for a candidate I cannot support. Been a third party voter for a long time

What if you hate all politicians?

Dumb aliens not knows that not the case everywhere on earth every time.

I don’t think we even do that anymore. We vote against a candidate’s supporters now.

Regrettably, there are still enough countries on Earth where you cannot vote against the politician you don’t like.

That’s just because of the choices we are given.

Truth! We never get a good candidate. Just the lesser of two evils.

Or we don’t vote at all, then complain about whoever won… ☺

Criticise the USA all you want, but it’s better than all those countries where the leader declares “Vote for me again or get shot.”

If you don’t vote, bad people can be given power. It’s important to vote.

Of course, at least most of us have hair. :)

Perhaps spending a week on the front lines in Ukraine would help some voters appreciate what’s at stake.

Or can just stuff ballot boxes like they did in 2020.

Instant runnoff voting (IRV), approval voting, and Condorcet make it easier for voters to vote for a candidate than against one. We also need a legislative house with a veto where seats are auctioned off for short terms, to deflect financial influence away from the rest of the government. Without such a house, every office is indirectly up for auction.

That is how I voted in 2016.
