I just had to tell Google play some R.E.M, haven’t heard in it awhile. Now I remember why I wasn’t a fan.. BUT I listen to Kasey Kasem every saturday! We need a Kasey Kasem and Wolfman jack

I only like that one song “That’s Me in the Corner”, very good song. I tried listening to others, but they don’t really stick with me.

Try Tangerine Dream. Not really pop, but the name works…

I think the only REM song I like is “Nightswimming.” Never liked them but I was into hair metal. But the song you are referring to is “Losing my Religion.” And it was on rotation on radio and MTV so much I almost lost mine. I am told it is a euphemism for losing one’s sh!t. I think it got nominated or won an award. Perhaps the only band I am less fond of would be the B-52s.

R.E.M. Never got it. the vocals were of a tone akin to Yoko Ono on a tranquilizer.

OK THIS one was interesting.
