There was report of a hairline crack in the corner of a section of your sidewalk. The subject of much discussion at the emergency meeting. It is an expansion joint but the team of specialists brought in mentioned it might be sign of a future issue.
They were going to plant it in your chest, but you didn’t answer the door when they knocked.
When we were house shopping years ago, we told the real estate lady NO HOAs. She said “but all the nice neighborhoods have HOAs” and I said “too bad, NO HOAs.” We ended up in an older neighborhood with a mix of young families and retired people, not fancy, but fine for my tastes.
The HOA gave my pal a hard time for sprinkling a little fertilizer on the small patch of grass in front of his unit. He had the only green grass in the complex. He got p!ssed and moved out after one year.
I got a visit from the “neighborhood HOA” soon after I bought my house, directing me about how they wanted me to spruce up the neglected lawn. Also threatened fines if I did not comply within ten days. I was shocked – a rude “welcome”, and also I was not informed of any HOA when I bought the place.
Checked into it and found there was no HOA – just nosy neighbors who thought they ruled the neighborhood. I ignored their visit. Later I got a letter in the mail from them, stating a fine of $250 plus threats of more fines and interest. My lawyer responded with a cease and desist… never heard another peep from the “HOA” although I did hear from other neighbors about how they complained about me.
The only time I had issue with our HOA was when a volunteer cedar tree sprouted in our Ash tree box. Got a letter warning me about my “weeds” – I responded with a letter explaining and several pictures of massive Russian Thistle growing in their maintained flower beds. Received an apology about over zealous “agriculture” volunteers. About four weeks later they cut the weeds down. Don’t mess with retired people, we have time to retaliate.

At the last board meeting. The one they managed not to inform you of even though the CC&Rs require them to do so.

That looks like a good expensive knife. Are they expecting you to return it?

Since it picked up on the DNC format. If you can’t beat’em…cheat’em. If that doesn’t work, try throwing them in jail. Next up….start a War.

HOA’s should be declared illegal. Certainly, they are unconstitutional and a backdoor “facsim,” if ever there was one!!

No H.O.A. would permit individualized door decorations to the extent of a knife. :)
